Prof Pratesi clinical activity was mainly focused on endovascular techniques, particularly in the treatment of peripheral artery diseases as well as thoracic and abdominal aorta diseases, being involved in more than 5000 open and endovascular operation and in 3000 operation as first operator. In 2010 he started the guidance of a dedicated program in advanced technology for the treatment of complex aortic disease using branched and fenestrated endograft. He is also taking part to outpatient activities, as well as invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures, particularly for preoperative planning and follow-up monitoring of endovascular procedures using dedicated software.
Prof Pratesi serves as proctor for the major aortic endograft companies mainly for complex aortic repair involving fenestrated and branched stent-grafts. He has participated is several multicentric international trials and in many and most prominent National and International congresses, most of the times as a speaker.
Since January 2008, Prof Pratesi is reviewer of the European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, the official journal of the European Society for Vascular Surgery (ESVS) and from January 2013 of the Journal of Cardiovascular Surgery.
He is a member of the European Society for Vascular Surgery (ESVS) and of the Italian Society of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery (SICVE) and a member of International Society for Vascular Surgery (ISVS).
Scientific activity consists of more than 200 publications either on national and international journals as well as textbook chapters.
Actual Impact Factor is 210,605 and h-index is 24.
