    Biography
    Keith D. Calligaro, MD is Chief, Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy at Pennsylvania Hospital.
    He completed his vascular fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York under Frank Veith, MD in 1989. He has maintained a private practice at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, PA since then. He served as Program Director of the Vascular Surgery Fellowship 1993-2023 and Chief of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Surgery since 1994. He is a Professor of Clinical Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
    Dr. Calligaro served as President of the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery and the Eastern Vascular Society. He served on the Association of Program Directors in Vascular Surgery Executive Board. He has given > 300 invited lectures. His vascular group has presented > 200 abstracts at regional and national vascular meetings and published > 160 articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is the lead author of “Guidelines for hospital privileges in vascular surgery and endovascular interventions: Recommendations of the Society for Vascular Surgery” in JVS in 2008 and 2018. He has served as an Assistant Editor of the Journal of Vascular Surgery.
    Dr. Calligaro has organized the Annual Pennsylvania Hospital Vascular Symposium for 30 years. He has served on the Vascular Surgery Sub-board of the American Board of surgery and has served as a senior examiner for the Certifying Examination in vascular surgery many times. He has served as Chair of 7 and as a member of 18 committees and councils for the Society for Vascular Surgery. He is currently President-Elect of the Society for Vascular Surgery.
